What is the YouTube Monetization Checker?

The YouTube Monetization Checker is a handy tool that allows you to easily check if a YouTube channel or video is monetized. It calculates the estimated revenue of videos and channels and provides detailed information. Furthermore, it can show the financial performance of channels and videos with different revenue projections.

How to Check if a YouTube Channel is Monetized

Method 1: It may be difficult to know the monetization status of YouTube, but with our YouTube Monetization Checker tool, it's easy. Simply enter the URL of the YouTube channel you want to check, and you'll know whether that channel is monetized or not.

Method 2: If the following conditions are met, there is a high possibility that the channel is monetized:

  • The "Channel Membership" button is displayed on the channel
  • Ads are displayed on many videos
  • There are partnership links with YouTube MCN or CMS companies in the channel description
  • The channel and videos have passed YouTube's authenticity review
  • The channel has over 1,000 subscribers and a total watch time of over 4,000 hours (240,000 minutes) in the past year

How the YouTube Monetization Checker Works

This tool works by analyzing the source code of channel and video pages. It searches for advertising elements and values related to monetization within the page's source code, examines and verifies those values, and provides information on whether the channel or video is monetized.

How to Check if a YouTube Video is Monetized

Open the video page, right-click to display the source code, and search for the string "yt_ad". If these values exist, the video is monetized. If they don't exist, it's not monetized. However, ads may appear on non-monetized videos, so searching for "yt_ad" in the source code alone may not provide an accurate judgment. Also, the string "yt_ad" may appear in copyrighted videos or videos where YouTube displays ads for its own profit. However, this does not mean that the video is monetized. Ad revenue is not paid to the video owner. This tool judges such situations and indicates that the video is not monetized.

What is the "Authenticity" Status of Channels and Videos?

The authenticity status indicates whether a channel or video contains original content. YouTube does not consider videos with low authenticity status as original and treats them as reused content that has been used before.

  • YouTube does not enable monetization features for channels that contain more than 90% of videos with low authenticity status.
  • Even if a channel's monetization is enabled, a lowauthenticity status indicates that the specific video contains non-original third-party videos or music.
  • If a video or channel has a high authenticity status, it means that the channel is likely to be eligible for monetization and has either been previously approved for monetization or is likely to be approved for monetization in the future.

YouTube Channel Monetization Requirements

YouTube has changed its monetization requirements:

Under the new criteria, the channel subscriber requirement has been lowered from 1,000 to 500. This means that to earn revenue through the YouTube Partner Program, you need to have at least 500 subscribers. Furthermore, the requirement of 4,000 hours of watch time in the past 90 days or 10 million views on short videos in the past 90 days has been changed to "3,000 hours of watch time in the past year or 3 million views on short videos in the past 90 days". Additionally, a new requirement has been added to publish at least 3 videos in the past 3 months. Creators who meet the updated requirements can apply for the YouTube Partner Program. Creators will also gain access to opportunities such as tipping features like Super Thanks, Super Chat, Super Stickers, subscription tools like Channel Memberships, and promoting products through YouTube Shopping.
